By the Back Door
This desert wild flower is growing by our back door or rather by the full length window by the back door. Tuffee dog was wanting in and Cassie cat was wanting out. Cassie will stand up and scratch on the glass to get my attention. But when she goes out she gets scared and wants back in, so she is an indoor cat which is what I want. My other cats want out to be barn cats and mousers. But we can't let them out much as we have too many coyotes in the neighborhood.
Retirement has finally come and for the first few years I lived as a "desert rat" on a small chunk of desert land in Rio Rancho, NM. Recently my husband and I moved to Bedford, KY so we would be near my son. It has been quite an experience. We are on 30 acres that includes open areas and forest. My own pets include 4 cats, 1 dog, 2 horses, and 2 ponies. All pets were adopted from shelters. I like to raise flowers, and houseplants, and I try to garden. I sometimes attempt to write fiction and nonfiction stories. I love to take photos and share them. I enjoy watching the sun rise in the morning and the moon rise in the evening, and love watching nature. I am an avid reader of fiction books with westerns and mysteries being my favorites.
