April Snow

After all the fruit trees were blooming and the trees and plants were starting to put on their little green leaves Mother Nature decided to give us a spring surprise in the way of a snow in April. We had about 4 inches which covered the blossoms giving us a look at nature not seen very often. About 27 years ago we had snow on May 10th, Mother's Day and there was snow on my pink roses that were in full bloom. About 37 years ago when we lived in Silver City I remember it snowed on the tuplips and other flowers. Each time this has happened it is a heavy, wet snow that weigh down the plants but the sun comes out by noon and melts it all away. By 2 pm we had mud as seen in the last photo.

  1. oh wow! poor you, all that snow. There's snow in the north of England now. We haven't had any here, but after temps of 24 degrees C, last week, it is cold and wet .. typically Bank Holiday weather xxx
