New Link About Blind Horses

Today a friend sent me a link to someone else who has a blind horse. Like my mare, Star, her horse is an Appaloosa, too. She is able to explain to those of us that are Scientifically Blind how this problem occurs in the Appaloosa horse. Here is the link to her blog which I will also add to my links list. http://

  1. Thanks for sharing my link. Remember, CSNB is NIGHT blindness. My horse sees just fine during the day. Horses that are homozygous for leopard pattern complex (LP/LP) have it. But again, it's only at night, and it never gets any worse.

If your horse's impairment is getting worse, and if it affects the horse's day vision, it's something else.
