These red rocks are a favorite stopping place across the highway from the Jemez Pueblo gas station, and museum. Usually there are Jemez Pueblo Indians selling fry bread, oven bread, or other goodies at stands in front of the rocks. On this day there was no one there and we didn't get to buy any of the fry bread that is so good tasting but not so good for you as it is fried flour dough with lots of grease on it, but oh so yummy.

Red Rocks
The Jemez Pueblo Indians took advantage of these red rock cliffs along the highway. They put a small store and gas station on one side of the road with a Visitors Center, and under the red rocks th
red rocks they putin places where members of the tribe can make and sell Indian fry bread, oven bread, cookies, tacos, and other native foods. On this day I was disappointed as there were no Indians selling anything.
